Mangalore:On Tuesday, April 17 former chairman and managing director of Syndicate Bank, Dr N K Thingalaya  said that Mobile Banking can ಪ್ರೋವಿದೆ access to all sections of people of our country

This can be one of the very helpful mode for banks to reach people, especially in financial inclusion programme. "Financial inclusion is the delivery of financial services at affordable costs to sections of disadvantaged and low income segments of
society," he added In his inaugural address at the national conference held in the University College here on "Information Technology and Its Implications on Banking Sector: Challenges and Prospects",  he opined that computerization was a boon for the banking industry. He stressed how information technology eased the process of lengthy calculations in banks. Prof B R Ananthan, Vice chancellor of Rani Chennamma University in Belgaum,
said that banks in India were  less affected during the global financial crisis. "Indian banking system has proved that it has a sustainable and pragmatic banking policy," he added. Prof T C Shivashankara Murthy, Vice chancellor of Mangalore University, Dr Laminarayana Bhat H R, principal of University College, Dr A Raghurama and Dr C K Hebbar were also present.
